Newframe’s own Grand Designs 2025 Grand House Carport

2025 saw an exciting collaboration with Grand Designs Live at the London ExCel. Newframe designed and integrated an oak solar PV glass carport onto the Eco Grand House, opened by Kevin McCloud from Channel 4’s Grand Designs in the centre of the Show, plus exhibited a 3m long steel pergola on the Newframe Stand itself. This was the first of its kind at the show and was received very positively by visitors and media alike.

Volvo also showcased their new EV under our carport to the 50,000 visitors the show welcomed this year over 5 days, giving visitors a great example of how combining the traditional oak with the futuristic solar PV glass and modern EV design can look harmonious and aesthetically pleasing, as well as functional – so much more attractive than just a standard carport.
