Most customers don’t know Point 2 or 3 so first, you need to look at your electricity bill which will tell you how many kilowatts of power you are using on a daily basis (A kilowatt is 1000 watts). As a guide.
Typical roof mounted panel systems contain around 15 panels will cover 25m2 of roof space and will generate around 4.2Kilowatt at their ‘peak’ which is shown as 4.2Kwp. Solar PV systems are considered ‘permitted developments’ and often don’t require planning permission. However, exceptions apply and it’s best to check with your local planning office for guidance. If you live in a listed building, conservation area or national park, additional restrictions may apply.
If you’re planning to install a solar PV system in your home, you may have to register it with your Distribution Network Operator (DNO). The DNO is the company responsible for bringing electricity to your home. We will advise you on this.
